My screen is white and grainy. I can't see any of the apps on my watch, but I feel the vibration when I click the button. How do I fix this?

@KelsieAngela, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa 2 since the screen became white and grainy.

Please restart your Versa 2 as described in this help article. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome! 😀

I tried restarting it last night. That didn't work, and it went black and wouldn't turn back on at one point. This morning, it turned on and I followed your instructions again including changing the watch face. That didn't work. Now the screen is black, and when I push the button it takes 3 seconds for the screen to even light up.

I have tried everything suggested and it just gets worse.

My Versa 2 doing the same. Put the button and just get a white flashing display. It same to turn off also. My Fitbit app can't find it. Leave in the charger and just start flashing white display again .

**** Edit: I found another thread about this issue. On that thread, someone gave the following advice:

"1. Contact Customer Support about it and mention specifically that you already did the restart procedure"

I was quickly able to get in touch with someone from FitBit by chat. We confirmed that I have already completed all troubleshooting and the issue still persists.

The agent advised my device is still under warranty and he sent me a link by email to replace my tracker, free of charge. My existing tracker can be recycled at an e-waste recycling facility because it is no good and can't be fixed.

The entire process took less than 15 minutes. If you are having this same issue, reach out to customer support for help to troubleshoot and either resolve the issue, or, see if your device is still under warranty so it can be replaced. *****

This just started for me today. My versa 2 vibrated around 9:30am and I checked to see if I had a text from someone on it, but, the entire screen was white and almost, but, not quite, flashing.

I rebooted it and it looked like it was fixed, but, not long after, it was white again. It did this sporadically for maybe 3 hours before the watch face stopped coming up at all  and anytime I tried to access it, the screen would come up white. My battery was at about 50% so I charged it to 100%. Tried again and still, nothing but a white screen. I tried to reboot it again, but, the fitbit logo won't even come up anymore; just a big whit square. I tried to change the watch face, but, the app can't locate my fitbit anymore. It still vibrates when activated, it just won't display anything but the white screen. When I get a text, it vibrates and the screen lights up completely white. I haven't even had this fitbit for 3 months, I purchased it in mid-May 2020.

Is there anyone else to speak with about this? My fitbit has provided me with a lot of motivation.  I've lost 60lbs in the last 4 months and still have another 80 to go. I'm afraid not having my fitbit to track my progress (steps, stairs) to my goals each day will cause me to fall off the right track.

I'm having this same issue today. Very disappointing and frustrating. It was working fine last night. Came back up for a few seconds this morning after spending some time researching what to do. And now I the screen is white again.

Hi Shelly,

This is exactly what happened to mine last weekend. It was working perfectly one minute and then throughout the day,  got worse and worse until it was just white all the time.

I contacted customer support (chat) and had to go through the following steps:

"Please restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your tracker internally. Once you've done this, try changing the clock face to one that is developed by Fitbit."

I tried all of it, nothing fixed it (by that point in the day, my versa wouldn't even restart).

At that point, the person I spoke with said it wasn't possible to fix it. My versa was still under warrenty. He sent me an email with a link to request a new one. I just received it yesterday. They sent me a refurbished tracker (none of the other accessories like a band or charger - so make sure you keep all of that stuff) and so far, it works perfectly.

The entire process took less than 20 minutes, including the wait to connect with an agent (they said the wait was longer than normal).

Here is the advice that was most helpful for me in resolving this issue: "Contact Customer Support about it and mention specifically that you already did the restart procedure"

Connect with them, especially if your versa is still under warrenty (purchased from fitbit.com and less than 1 year old - it looked like they may also cover fitbits purchased from Anazon)

This just happened to mine as well. Went thru all the reset procedures. Contacted customer support & I unfortunately am just out of warranty. Was sent an email with a 30% discount code only to order yet ANOTHER fitbit (I've had 5 since 2014) but funny thing is upon checkout there isNOTa place to put said discount code!! This will sadly be the LAST fitbit I will waste my money on!! I'm so pissed right now!!

I had the same issue, white distorted, grainy unreadable screen. This is what I did to fix it. I removed my device from the fitbit app then I let my battery completely drain which took about 6 days. I then let it fully charge overnight. The next day it was in setup mode and I was able to setup my fitbit again.
