I'm looking to buy a versa 2 for my husband. Fitbit website doesn't sell the versa 2 special edition anymore. Why is that? i see it on amazon and am stuck between the special edition on amazon or buying the versa 2 from Fitbit. Any recommendations?

The actual watch is the same for both. The special edition comes with extra band(s), a woven one, and maybe an extra standard one. It also includes 3 months of Premium. But I think a free trial of Premium is offered to all now, for new users at least, and you can buy bands separate, either from Fitbit or a wide variety from Amazon at lower prices. But I think Fitbit website offers longer return period. Normally I would probably say just go with regular, but on a quick look the Special Edition on Amazon looks cheaper than standard on Fitbit, but I'm not sure I checked them both right.

the comparison says that the versa se has a chip in it that allows you to pay for things. like apple pay on a cell phone. yes its 10 dollars cheaper on amazon. i was worried to get it there as there are a few reviews showing that the back panel of the watch falls off. but i spoke with a fitbit rep and that since amazon is a authorized retailer that if the watch is faulty they will help with replacement if need be.

That is Fitbit Pay, which uses an NFC (near field communications) chip. That is included in both regular and SE.
