Versa 2 steps accuracy concern

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my Versa 2 for around 3 days now. Despite the fact that I have done no more than a couple hundreds steps today, it has calculated over 1100 steps, including 150 while I was asleep and stationary.

I tried contacting FitBit via LiveChat and was asked to provide photos, but it kicked me out and I can't get back in.

I tried calling and the person on the phone said that it was showing 400 steps despite me having evidence that it wasn't the case. It then suddenly updated on his end, and he asked me to do a test. That was measured accurately, but the entire rest of the day hasn't been.

How can I fix this? I have tried factory resetting, restarting several times, changing sleep sensitivity, changing to dominant arm as suggested in the forums, but no avail. I'm very disappointed in the product considering I had no issues like this is my £30 Huawei Honor Band, and my Fitbit cannot be returned to the retailer (Argos) as they won't accept opened/used products, but I've been told by the person on the phone that they won't do anything about it.

I feel like it's been a complete waste of money as one of the primary things I wanted it to do was to measure steps, and all the reviews I saw said it was reasonably accurate, but it seems to be pulling numbers out of thin air, jumping by several hundreds steps while I'm stationary.

If anyone could advise me on this, that would be amazing. I realise that smartwatches and fitness bands don't provide entirely accurate step measurements, but this is ridiculous. My old band was a million times better than this, it seems to either be a glitch or a faulty device, but FitBit refuse to admit any fault, and basically told me there's nothing we can do. I don't want to have wasted £200.
