Versa 2 stopped tracking my heart rate

Everything was fine 3 days ago, today I noticed that the heart rate only shows "--" under the heart icon.

Tried all the resets listed but still nothing.. Is it just shot?  Everything else works fine

Hi there, @Jff17. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out.

As a first approach, I'd recommend trying the following steps to make sure your heart rate is working:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your watch, from the main screen of your watch, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Versa 2. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Versa's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your watch once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your Versa 2 once again.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Also, for more detailed information, see: What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?. Keep in mind that active minutes are also calculated by your heart rate.

Tried it, didn't work, even went a step further and factory reset the thing, still doesn't track HR.

Thanks for at least trying, but I am having similar problems and also tried the same incantation given above without success. My Versa 2 had been working almost faultlessly for over three years, and the HR just stopped working three days ago. It's pretty odd that so many of us are having identical problems at around the same time.

More broadly though the types of solutions being suggested by Fitbit are indicative of some pretty buggy software on the watch. Not only the above, but also double factory resets are pretty weird things to recommend. Next thing we'll be expected to stand pointing towards LA and holding our watch to our heart!

I was offered a substantial discount on a new Fitbit, but won't be taking it up. Good money after bad and all that, so after 8 years I'm going elsewhere! I'm sad to lose the data continuity but it would happen sometime anyway if Fitbit keeps heading downwards like this...

I've had the same problem with no HR. I noticed it cause I didn't get any sleep data anymore. And when I checked it out, found that it hasn't been tracking HR for a week. Everything worked fine before. I tried all the above, turning off/on the HR and restarting the tracker but still doesn't work. Only had my versa 2 for a year yet and shouldn't have issues yet. Has to be a factory defect of something.
