Versa 2 stopped working after swimming with it

Hi, I briefly  (less than 5 minutes) wore my Versa 2 whilst swimming. Since then it has stopped working, i thought it was water resistant to 50 metres. This was just a quick swim in a pool (not underwater).

I left it to dry, tried charging- but all it did was get hot. It's 2.5 years old.

Any ideas please, is it fixable or shall I dump it and accept water resistant doesn't really mean what it says.
