Versa 2 stopped working

I have had my Versa 2 for just over a year. Yesterday, I purchased an Ace 2 for my son. When I was setting it up on my phone, it seemed to have interfered with my Versa. I stopped setting his device on my phone and switched to our tablet. Unfortunately, it seemed to be too late and the fitbit app will not recognize my fitbit. I can see it on my bluetooth but no matter how much troubleshooting I do, fitbit will not recognize my fitbit. I was offered a discount to buy a new fitbit. I do not like this business model because my fitbit was working perfectly fine until yesterday. I have contacted support 4 times and have spent 8 hours working on this issue. If y car stopped working, would I be required to just buy a new one? No. A mechanic would work on it and fix it. Cars are much more complicated machines so the fact that my only option now to is to buy a new fitbit is infuriating. I can't just buy a new device every time there is an issue. It is now stuck on factory settings and not recognized by the app and now I am without a fitbit. There has to be a way to get it out of factory settings to the setup screen but it just tells me to download the fitbit app. Again, have gone through all the troubleshooting which makes me believe this is a fitbit issue and not my phone.
