Hi there, @Kat207. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out.

To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

Nevertheless, if you mean by pressing side button, maybe you are holding button press too long. It just takes a quick press, if you hold it longer, it activates the 'left button shortcut' which you can set from 'Settings' > 'Left Button'.  If this describes your issue, I'm guessing your shortcut is set to 'Alexa'. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?
