Versa 2 suddenly having several issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've noticed small issues in the past with step tracking and syncing, but this morning, so many things just stopped working.

1. The steps are either showing 1,200 or 13,800...neither of which are correct. I took a walk this morning and when I got home, my watch said that I took 7,400 steps.

2. After stopping recording the walk, I noticed that the amount of energy burned was only at 20cal, but I walked 3.11 miles in 64 minutes. It also only showed that I took 700 steps.

3. I erased that exercise and attempted to input it manually, but after 30 seconds or so, the whole exercise disappears.

I have restarted the watch itself, logged out and logged back into the app, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I also made sure that the phone was not connected and double counting steps as well. Not sure what's going on here, but it's frustrating.

I'm having similar problems with my Versa 2. The metrics just aren't updating in a way that makes any sense anymore (I've been using fitbit products since 2015 so i know when something is working differently and some of the basic fixes for it). My energy burned isn't adjusting based on activity level and hasn't for about 2 weeks although my number of steps do still seem to sync. My food icon shows anticipated baseline energy expended for days that haven't even happened yet and does not adjust for activity levels so my calories in/calories out don't calculate. I've had no sleep data for months.

I've restarted my phone, closed out and logged back in numerous times, restarted my device, manually synced, and have even un-installed and re-installed the app which completely messed up my connections to other fitness apps, and went as far as to activate my free 6-months of premium to see if the standard features somehow got caught behind a paywall.

It's frustrating enough that I'm considering throwing in the towel on a product/service that i've used for 9 years.

I have had premium for years, so yeah. I'm a little upset, for sure. Right. I rely on my data a lot as I have some chronic health conditions that I utilize Fitbit to help manage. My data not being accurate is kind of a big deal to me.

I'm having a similar issue. It use to be that if I did approximately 7500 steps it equalled 3 miles. Now if I do 7700 steps it's still less than three miles. How can 10116 steps equal 3.42 miles and 9685 steps equal 3.55 miles. It doesn't make sense to do fewer steps but have walked further. Something is seriously wrong. I don't have mobile track on so why are there such differences in distance. Just sync my Fitbit, my watch shows I did 9939 steps which equals 4.07 miles but the app shows just over 3 miles. Come on Fitbit get it sorted, I like my Versa 2 but the problems with it are getting beyond a joke.

Update. If I keep the Bluetooth on on my phone the miles match up on the app with my Versa 2, but as soon as I switch it off it reverts to a lower mileage. Come on let's get this issue sorted Fitbit.

I I am having the same issues. I swim and workout in the water daily. A few days ago I noticed my Versa 2 watch only showing 40 calories burned. Normaly it will show 350 to 400 calories burned. On the app on my phone it will show the proper amount and it will show calories burned. Very frustrating and less motivating.

It seems that they have partly solved the problem. I have just synced my Fitbit to the app and both appear to be showing the same data, however it's not been back dated all my steps seem correct but the mileage it was out.

I also have a Versa 2, and I'm having serious problems with the app now. I could not log into the app on my phone for more than a week, and now it won't relay text messages. There doesn't appear to be a fix because they removed the photo icon on the app that used to go to the personalization options. I have permissions set up for SMS, but nothing comes through.

I ordered something else yesterday. Like you, I've used Fitbit for more than 9 years!

Thank you for the notification. I will have to try to see if I can update mine. It wants me to switch to Google. I thought maybe that had something to do with problems. I have not had time to research further.
Thanks again.

I have not switched over to the Google login. I didn't really want to do that. I've seen posts here from people changing to the Google account, and it doesn't fix the problems, and in some cases, adds other issues like not being able to use the wallet to pay for purchases.

I just want to be able to see if someone sends me a text. Getting calendar notifications would be good, too. Mine used to do both, but no longer.

I have not upgraded to the Versa 3 or 4 because the reviews were not great for those products. I don't think Fitbit support care about helping people with older devices, either. I waited on hold for a long time to finally talk to someone who seemed to know nothing about the issues and could not offer any solutions other than "wait and see." It was a waste of my time.

I am sorry to hear that you did not get anywhere on the phone. Yes, I am hesitant to switch to the Google log in for fear that it may get worse. I am tied up with a lot of other things and I will look into my issues with Fitbit this weekend.
I would prefer not to have to switch to another model or product. I just want it to like it had been before.
Good luck and thank you for your reply and update.
Have a nice evening.

Mine is showing the wrong time. I can not get my Versa 2 to sync either.

Further update. Back to same old problem. Fitbit shows a different distance to app once synced.

I am have similar issues with Versa 2 its not syncing last sync was 81 days ago even though I checked it everyday, my step count is way off as well as many other stats and this morning the battery was completely dead even though I just charged it to 100% on Monday . Sometimes it will last for 5 days and others will barely last for 2 days . I would really like to know what is going on has Fitbit stopped supporting the Versa 2 .

Sorry to hear all of this. I thought mine was doing a better job of accuracy. However, this morning, I taught a water fitness class where I usually record 450 calories burned, after class it reads 60 calories burned.
I will not have time to look into it until the weekend.
Good luck.
