Versa 3 not tracking my SpO2 data

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm having and issue with the SPO2 tracking on my Versa 3.

I've worn it to sleep for 3 nights now, every morning it shows "Recording SpO2..." and just hangs on this screen for about an hour or so.

Then the Fitbit just restarts itself and it ends up back at "Sleep to update" again. 3 nights in a row this has happened.

In addition to that, in the health metrics page on the app Breathing Rate shows as "No Recent Data"

and under SpO2 is no graph and just has a prompt to download the specified watch face - Which I have, it just hangs on "Recording SpO2".

Have Fitbit Premium, Premissions all allowed and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the watch face too which some people have suggested and that hasn't worked either.

Hi there @Buruuberriez, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the inconveniences you've been to record your SpO2 on Versa 3, I understand where your concern is coming from. Thanks for already trying to solve this issue prior to posting here, I'll be glad to continue to help you.

To make sure your Fitbit device successfully measures your SpO2 values, keep the following in mind:

  • Your device doesn’t retroactively measure your SpO2 values. After you install the clock face, you’ll see dashed lines until after your next sleep session.
  • Charge your Fitbit device to make sure it’s able to collect data throughout your entire sleep session. Note that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when using the SpO2 Signature clock face.
  • Your Fitbit device must sync with the Fitbit app before the clock face updates. Note that it may take around an hour for your SpO2 values to appear after you sync your device. For troubleshooting syncing, see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
  • Turning off any clock face permissions can cause the clock face to stop functioning. To check these settings:

    1. With your Fitbit device nearby, open the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet.
    2. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image.
    3. Tap Clock Faces.
    4. Tap the SpO2 Signature clock face.
    5. Tap Permissions. Turn on any permissions you turned off.
    6. Tap Details when you're done making changes.
  • Your Fitbit device must be able to consistently track your SpO2 data:

    • Wear your device slightly higher on your wrist.

    • Make sure your device is in contact with your skin.

    • Your device should be snug but not constricting.

    • Tattooed skin can impact the accuracy of the red and infrared sensors on your Fitbit device.

For more information about SpO2, see: How do I track blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) with my Fitbit device?

Regarding your Breathing Rate, factors that can affect breathing rate include age, sex, weight, lung and heart conditions, anxiety, and fever. For more information, see How do I track breathing rate in the Fitbit app?

Let me know if you need further help, I'll be around.

Hi there,

I've tried all of these above options and have been through the FAQ guides.

The clock face was installed prior to the 3 days of sleep and it goes into "recording spo2" until a couple's of hours after I've been up and awake, it just never actually updates beyond that. It's after this that the Fitbit hangs and restarts itself and it goes back to sleep to update as though it never attempted to record anything.

I should clarify I uninstalled the clock face after the second night and reinstalled it then before the third night's sleep. Prior to the sleep it had "sleep to update", after waking up in the morning it showed as "recording spo2" which never updated. After about an hour of being up and about the Fitbit restarted itself Fitbit logo and all and after it restarted it was back to "sleep to update".

I can confirm none of these details update in the app, in fact the app still shows to download the clock face to track spo2 even though it is downloaded and currently running on my Fitbit as we speak

Hi,

I am having the exact same problem - my versa3 Spo2 clock face keeps showing "--%". While sometimes it shows "recording data", during most times it just displays "sleep to update". When I go to the "today" section on my watch and scroll down to "oxygen saturation" I get the same "--" reading on both the sleeping saturation and last night's range.

On my phone fitbit app, in the "health metrics" (I have a fitbit premium subscription) under "oxygen saturation" i do not get any stats or even an empty stats chart; all i can see there are "Download clock face" and "download SPO2 tracker app" options. But I have both of these downloaded and installed.

I am currently uninstalling all spo2 clock faces (yes, i tried multiple spo2 clocks just to check if any of them work) and the Spo2 tracker app. But I am not sure if re-installing them would solve my problem.

All other functions under the health metrics section and sleep section seem to be working fine.

Kindly help me resolving this issue; Spo2 tracking was the major reason I purchased a versa 3 and it feels like that's going to waste.

I don't know why I did, but when my FitBit Versa Lite literally fell apart this week, yesterday I bought a Versa 3.

I was about to say that the SpO2 also is just displaying "recording..." but I just checked it and the number is there!  WOW!

Now I have to research as to why the App won't allow me to set my weight goals.

I set as LOSE, then enter a number, click Next, but then it says, GAIN.

I don't know why FitBit just doesn't get their app to work properly.  i mean, as a programmer, this kind of error on an app is an indication of poor management of the coding team.  This should NOT pass QA.

Go to settings on the fitbit scroll to the bottom and hit SHUT DOWN, Turn the watch on again and voila, it should work. Worked for me at least. Turning off and on is the solution to many problems on these devices
