Versa 3 security Pin not working

Just got a new versa 3, worked great for about a week and then this morning the pin number for the fitbit(tried to setup the wallet feature(my bank was not supported in the end) and it required me to add one) suddenly stopped working.

 

I type in the correct pin and nothing happens, the screen times out and goes black but I am unable to use the touchscreen. If I press the butting on the fitbit it takes me back to the home watchface but then if I try to swipe to another function the pin screen pops back up. It doesn't do anything different whether it type in the right pin, or the wrong pin, the same thing happens. I cannot restart my fitbit because it has to be done through the watch itself, and I cannot change the pin or anything because within the app the "device lock" option won't open and gives me the error message:

 

"Error registering versa 3 with Fitbit pay wallet

Error connecting to versa 3. Make sure it is close by and turned on."

 

The fitbit still syncs data but I just cannot use any of the functionality. Please help.

You could try restarting the fitbit by pressing and holding the button for around 10 seconds until the logo appears.

What was the resolution for this, I am getting the same? 

 

I can sync my Versa 3, but it's locked. When I try to use the device lock function within the app and set a new pin I get Error connecting to Versa 3 message. 

 

At this point it's been like this for weeks.

Sadly, I never received an answer to the problem. I just am not able to use
the pay function on my fitbit due my bank not being supported so i have
turned it off.
