Hi there,
I have had my versa 3 for about 3 years now and I have had a good experience with it. Two months ago I ran into the same issue regarding battery issues. Restarting the watch seemed to fix the issue then, but now I have ran into the same issue with another issue to boot.
I have charged my watch a few days ago, 2 or 3 days. Normally I need to charge it every 5 to 6 days. It was a dissapointment that I had to charge it again yesterday, but I thought nothing of it really. I woke up this morning with 12% battery life. The battery had drained 80% within 12 hours!! I have charged the watch again this morning to 98% and now, not even two hours later, the watch is already at 80%!!
I know it isn't the best to charge the watch fully, or any lithium-ion device for that matter, but I have always done so throughout my 3 years of use, so I wouldn't say there should be such a sudden change. I have also read on forums that there might have been a firmware update to prevent overheating issues which supposedly caused an uproar, because the battery was draining very quickly for a lot of people. But that was in february, so I can't really see why that would be an issue for me now, to be honest.
I also have another issue. Since yesterday my side button isn't responding at all, even after restarting. I know how I have to press it obviously, because I have used it for 3 years, but there is zero response now. I have read some forums suggesting I restart the watch by going to settings and shutting the watch down, then putting it on the charger so it reboots. I have done this, but sadly no improvement.
For clarity: I haven't changed anything in my usage behaviour or settings in any way. I haven't changed clock face, haven't done way more exercise, haven't used gps more than usual.
Apart from the issues I have described above, the watch works fine and there don't seem to be any other problems. But these issues have a great impact on the quality of usage and it makes it just a device that is an enormous hassle to do something with, instead of what it's meant to be and help with. Charging the watch every 12 hours and a side button not working makes it for me practically nearly useless.
The current version is: 36.128.6.17
I hope someone knows how to fix this, because I'm out of warranty and I don't really want to have the expense of buying a new watch right now, which probably wouldn't be a fitbit if this issue indeed means that the device is practically unusable.
