Versa 3 stopped working after getting wet

I spent 15 minutes in the pool and my watch is completely dead. I tried charging it for 2 hours but got no response. The watch is supposed to be waterproof and I’ve had it for a year only. What can I do?

Hi there, @Nieveslazaro. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 has stopped working after getting wet. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

If you've done the above but to no avail, please try restarting your Versa 3 by following these steps.

If the restart doesn't work and your Versa 3 didn't vibrate during the process, I suggest trying the following:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

Regarding your inquiry, please note most Fitbit devices are water-resistant to 50 meters. They're designed to be swimproof and stand up to even the sweatiest of workouts. See our user manuals for specifics as to whether your device is swimproof or splashproof. For more detailed information, see Can I swim or shower with my Fitbit device?

Thank you very much for your detailed response and steps on how to fix my broken watch.

I have gone through every step you mentioned in your description, and proceded to clean the charging contacts, but unfortunately, the watch is not responding. The screen is black and no message is showing up whatsoever.

I have also downloaded and read the Versa 3 manual (all of this has taken a considerable amount of time, I must say), and found this: Model FB511 has a water resistance rating of IPX8 under IEC standard 60529, up to a
depth of 50 meters.

Since I have not submerged the watch below 50 meters (I was merely swimming for 15 minutes) and it is clearly a very common problem, that has often been discussed in this community, I’m assuming there must be some sort of warranty. What would you suggest I do now?

Thanks,
