Versa Band Sizing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I currently have a Fitbit Charge in the XL size. I really want to upgrade to the Versa, but am concerned the band won't fit. My wrist is about 9". The Charge XL guide says it is for wrists up to 8.9", but the device itself is about 11" long. So I wear it with the top "clip" on the sixth hole in and it fits perfectly, .

The Versa only has a large band which says it fits a wrist up to 8.7". But is that just the band? Does anybody know if the device is actually a little longer?

Or will regular watch bands fit the Versa? If so, I could get one and then maybe buy a watch band that would fit.

I'm a little disappointed they don't offer the XL band size. I was all ready to pre-order the rose gold/purple (it's so pretty!) special edition one until I saw the sizes. Hopefully there's a way I can still get one! 🙂

Thanks in advance for any help!!

@Lilly316 From what I’ve seen of the sizing drawings, 8.7” includes the Versa.

Hi, @Lilly316, what @SunsetRunner says is correct.  The sizing guide refers to the whole wrist circumference.  However, if you find that the Charge XL fits you, even though your wrist circumference is just a bit above the maximum reported size, you may very well find that the Versa fits you as well.  My experience is that the earlier models (like the Charge) are a little smaller than more recent models, like Charge 2.  (Due to customer feedback.)

If you buy directly from Fitbit, they offer a 45 return guarantee, so you can return it for any reason within that time period (although you will have to pay carriage, both ways).  Alternatively, your local supplier may have a return policy that allows you to try on and return if it is not suitable.

If I had to bet, I would bet that if the Charge XL fits you, the Versa L will also.  But, of course, I don't know for sure!

If you decide to order, please do let us know how it goes!  I am sure that lots of other people also will be interested in your findings.

Thanks for the advice @Julia_G and @SunsetRunner. I called Fitbit customer service to ask a couple questions and though the guy I talked to was nice, he didn't really give me the answers I needed. It seems like they don't know that much about the Versa yet.

I printed out the sizing guide for the Versa and tried it on. It does overlap by almost 1 1/2 inches into the large size. But when I ask customer service about that, or about the length of the device, all he said was that based on the numbers, the Versa won't fit me. I don't think he quite understood what I was asking/saying.

I met someone who had the Charge HR - she thought she had the large size and she let me try on hers. It fit quite comfortably. But I didn't think to check the band for the size and see there's an XL in that one too. So I don't know for sure what size she had.

I see there's a third party Versa band - the Hooroor Milanese Loop band, whose large size band goes to 9.3", but it only stays on with a magnet and I worry about it being too easy to get it caught on something and losing the whole thing.

I'm thinking I'm just going to have to wait until these hit the stores and try one on. Fingers crossed that it does because this device is everything I'm looking for, and I hate to miss out because my stupid wrist is too big!

Thanks for reading my novel! lol

I wouldn't be concerned about it at all.  I have large mitts too and was a bit nervous when my Alta HR came in, but I was pleasantly surprised that my large mitts fit into the small sized band...and my wrists are about the same size as yours.

The Ionic came out next, and when I got upgraded to that, I tried on the small sized band again, seeing as that size fit for my Alta HR.  My concern grew again when the band would fit but the band kept falling off.  This was remedied when I switched to the larger band, which is still a little big on me, but it's certainly more secure and fits the larger frame of the Fitbit very well.

I agree with @DramaQueenDiva: the Fitbit size guidelines are very generous.

Where did you find a sizing guide for the Versa?

On the Versa ordering page, there's a drop down menu under size. It says "See sizing chart". If you click on that it will take you down to the sizing specs, along with a link you can click on for the sizing guide.

Hope this helps!

Just a quick update. I went to Best Buy today and was able to try on a Versa with the large band. Fit great, with room to spare. I'm so happy! Now I just have to decide between the black or the silver! Originally, I thought I wanted the Rose Gold, but then decided the silver would be best. But all Best Buy had was the black, and it looked nicer than I thought it would. Decisions, decisions! lol

I actually pre-ordered and got the gray cloth with titanium face. It's the special edition and cost a little more but worth it. It has both large & small band for the gray cloth and black plastic band. You also have a wallet that allows you to pay with it. Def worth the extra money. The small band fits me great!!

Just an FYI in case anyone else with a large wrist needs an XL sized band. I ended up buying two of the aftermarket metal link kind with removable links and took 4 or 5 links out of one and added them to the other, now it fits great, is very comfortable, and looks great!  My wrist is 9.5 - 10" or so as a point of reference.

I purchased a Versa and also have a large wrist. The large measures 10" from end to end. My wrist is a little larger than 9" and it fits on the third slot in the band.

Do you by chance know what band you purchased? The large band which comes with the Versa only barely fits my wrist on the largest setting and it's not comfortable.
