A few days ago my Versa started producing a heart rate that was clearly incorrect. For example, my resting heart rate is definitely not 180 bpm, but it is according to my Versa. I have the latest software on my Versa, have restarted it many times, and made sure I only have supported watch faces and apps stored on my device. When I restart it the HR numbers fall to around 90 bpm, still waaay to high for my resting HR, then quickly climb again. What could be going wrong? I use this watch to help monitor my heart health so any help would be much appreciated!

I’ve been experiencing the same thing since Friday and it’s giving me an outrageous amount of active minutes for doing nothing. According to my Fitbit, my heart rate is constantly above 130, which is not correct. I’ve just restarted a third time this morning and it seems to be working ok now, but we will see.

Same here, though not as high. It's constantly above 100 when I'm moving (but not working out) and sits in the high 70s and 80s when I'm sitting. I've done the same and am just short of doing a complete wipe which I'd rather not have to do. It's also been miscalculating my sleep. I DEFINITELY didn't fall asleep AFTER midnight (it said I only had 5 1/2 hours of sleep last night. It's closer to seven in reality)..

I really appreciate these replies! I'm glad to know people are having similar issues. But unfortunately, I still need a solution like you guys or this is a $200 paperweight as a lot of what I use it for is HR related.

I was told by technical support that I needed to update my firmware. It has been a week, trying to update the firmware and the update fails every time. My fitbit is not useful at all, and I have spent a lot of time trying different solutions offered by technical support but nothing has helped so far.

I have been having the same issue for just over a week. I don't have any updates available. It would be great to figure out what is going on, and helpful to know it's a bigger issue than just my band.

UPDATE: Spoke with customer service twice with two different people. The first led me to a factory reset, which gave no result. The second guy seemed to skirt around the issue, not realizing that I actually verified that my resting HR is not 113 bpm. I basically had to drag it out of him that there is a bigger problem than just my band, but who knows if he was telling the truth. The customer service was friendly and somewhat helpful, but Fitbit needs to figure this out. For a $200 watch, this is unacceptable. It was no small purchase for me and it only worked for a year, conveniently only a week after my warranty expired.

My online chat with customer service (6/29) concluded with it being a "known issue" that they are trying to resolve. They suggested turning off the heart rate monitor in settings briefly, going out of settings, then going in and turning it on again. It did not work. I also noted that whatever is happening also runs down my battery in less than a day. Hoping for a fix soon, as it is basically a pedometer that can't even last a day at a time!

I’m having the exact same issue, and no troubleshooting suggestions are working. Pretty frustrating.

I am having the same issue my heart rate as I sit here and type this is 116. For the last 3 days it has gone up as high as 165 and come down to 90 before climbing up again. I have tried turning the heart monitor off and on, done a factory reset and updated to the latest firmware and that hasn’t fixed it. Anyone got a solution?

I don't think they have a fix for this issue yet. In addition, my battery lasts about ten hours max. I was still within my warranty period, and able to get a replacement, however, the heart rate/activity minutes issues seems to be affecting many, so hopefully they figure it out and send out an update soon. Customer service has acknowledged that it is a known issue they are working on, but no ETA for addressing it.
