Versa Heart Rate Suddenly Through The Roof

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit Versa updated over the weekend, and for the last two days, I have apparently burned over 8,000 calories a day. This is considerably more than my usual average (approximately 3,000 calories a day). My recorded heart rate has also skyrocketed since the update. I was lying in bed last night apparently with a heart rate of 120bpm. This seems extremely unlikely. Is there a way to undo the update, or reset my device without losing previously recorded data?

Hello @Martin85

I would definitely restart your Fitbit tracker. You will not lose any data doing so. Look here to see how to properly do so with your particular Fitbit: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm

😃 Please let me know if this answers your question and resolves the issue you are experiencing

I've reset my Fitbit, but my heart rate according to it is still through
the roof. 142bpm at the moment, and I'm just sitting down!

Hello again @Martin85

Try turning your heart rate monitoring off then on again.

@Martin85 , oddly on another note I have read where individuals sometimes experience a similar situation sometimes using a third party watch on their Fitbit. If you are using one? Try changing your clock face to the original one and see if that fixes it. Also I found this great article that addresses this issue and tips/troubleshooting that might help here: https://www.myhealthyapple.com/fitbit-heart-rate-not-working-or-inaccurate-lets-fix-it/

😃 Please keep me updated

I've tried all the recommended remedies - e.h. giving the fitbit a wipe,
switching the heart rate monitor off and on, changing what wrist I wear it
on, restarting the fitbit several times - but my heart rate during my
waking hours is still crazy. I've attached a screenshot from the app
showing today's view. You'll see it's fine during the night, but then it
looks like I then go for a long-distance intense run for the rest of the
day (which I don't!).

Hello again @Martin85

This is quite odd for sure. If all the troubleshooting tips did not resolve the issue then I would contact Fitbit Customer Service: https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US. I’m certainly not a doctor but excessive jumps in heart rate would certainly concern me. I’d also discuss my concerns with my doctor just to get there take on it for sure.
