Extremely frustrated. I've had my Versa for 12 hours. Battery completely died after wearing it to sleep. When I went to charge, it doesn't charge but becomes EXTREMELY hot. Is it defective?

Contact Customer Support.
Best AnswerCall service, cross you fingers and hope for a quick replacement.
Best AnswerThey replaced my Versa. I received the replacement about 2 weeks after they received mine. Good luck!
Best AnswerIve had my versa for not a month yet and it works well until today. It has 20% life left on the battery so I charged it for almost 2hrs. I took it off the charger and it is extremely hot and dead. Went throught the community help and did all the restart process -not working. I let it cool off and charge it again for 30mins and it keeps getting hotter so i will not charge it again. Anyone had the same issue??? Thanks
@Wilah you need to contact Support (link in my signature) I think, or return it to the shop it was bought (depending on their return policy)

This morning, like most mornings, I put my fit bit on the charger while I was in the shower. After about 40 minutes of getting ready, I went to grab my fit bit to start my day. When I grabbed it off the charger it was super hot. And that’s when I noticed that the green light in the back wasn’t blinking. I tried pressing the buttons on the side but nothing happens. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Best AnswerHave you tried restarting it by pressing and holding the left button and bottom right button together for 15 secs (until you see the fitbit logo), repeat this a few times and see how it goes.
If it's still overheating you could try a full factory reset, or failing that contact customer support.
I would not leave the watch alone while charging. Return it.
Best AnswerThanks for the input! I contacted customer service this morning, and they want me to send it back—so it’s in the mail!
Now just have to wait for the replacement to get here... *tick*tick*tick*
My Versa watch is only two months old. Initially it was not holding the battery charge for more than a day then it just stopped working. When I put it in the cradle to recharge, the watch gets very hot & will not display anything.
Best AnswerI think tou need to contaft Support (link in my signature)

The same thing happened to me after I wore it in the bath - even though a few weeks before I swam in the ocean with it without a problem. The screen flickered, said it was at 0% (was 35% before bath) and the charger got extremely hot when I tried to charge it. The green light was no longer flickering on the back and there was condensation in the little windows on the back. I initiated a chat with Fitbit and within 5 mins I submitted the form for a replacement - dont' even need to send the broken one back (note that I had to submit a picture of the condensation (with my case #) for a replacement to be approved so that folks don't try to get free Fitbits lol). Overall impressed with the customer service - first time I've needed it even though I've owned 6 different mdoels over the years - I come back to fitbit because I've heard the customer service is excellent and love the brand. I hope you get yours replaced ASAP
