Could anyone give me a clue on how to record my steps. I may walk 3 steps but it’s showing 39 steps.

You have to make sure that you are constantly moving. Stopping and starting may throw it off. AND remember you have to move for 10 (or so) seconds before it will start to record.  So if you aren't moving for more than 10 seconds then those steps wont count.

@Stug300363  it would be helpful to know what Fitbit tracker you have, or do you use the Fitbit app on your phone.

This board is for help with apps on the tracker help.

Before any steps will be recorded the tracker needs to see 5  consectutive steps,  then 5 and additional steps will be added.

Let me know what tracker and I'll move thre post to the proper board.

My watch is Fitbit Verse Light. It seems to record my arm movement plus steps. If I keep it in my pocket rather than on my wrist then it records far less.

Welcome to the Community Forums @Stug300363If you're doing something like pushing a stroller, shopping cart, or keeping your Fitbit in your pocket, your wrist-based device will count your steps but the total may be slightly lower than usual. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device count steps?

If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see: How do I measure and adjust stride length for my Fitbit device?

Sometimes, when you start walking, your steps may not update on your device right away. After about 10-15 continuous steps, you'll notice the steps catch up and start updating in real time with each step you take.

Thanks so much for your help @Rich_Laue and @pmnery

I've moved your post to the Versa & Versa Light board as there are more chances to get related replies here.
