@Bandybroad the dashboard shows the total as it was when it last synced, the fitbit will always show the true total. Could it be that you just haven't synced for a while?

@Bandybroad Welcome to the Fitbit family! I moved your post to the Versa Board as there are more chances for you to receive an answer to your inquiry here. Thanks for posting the situation you are experiencing with the difference in the steps shown on your device and your dashboard.

Just as @SteveH shared, this could be happening as a result of not syncing your Fitbit device. Please try syncing it. If you are having trouble to sync; please follow these syncing troubleshooting steps in order to sort that out.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

It had been doing fine til I left home and then as you said it didn’t change while I was out and about. But then when I got home it wouldn’t sync. After much fiddling I decided it wasn’t on the wi fi
I had to put the watch in charger in order to reconnect to WiFi.
Will that happen whenever I leave?
Another ?.
1. It is only synced to my iPhone not iPad. Will it only sync to 1 at a time
2. I am going on vacation and will be staying in a hotel where you have to log in and I think clink agree on user agreement.
Does this mean I can’t sync to app while I’m away

It is not needed to put the watch on the charger to connect it to Wi-Fi. Please feel free to check this helpful article for more details.

You can only sync using one device at a time. Please check if the iPad you are using is compatible.

Yes, you can sync with the app while away. Just make sure you have internet connection on your phone and Bluetooth. Check this helpful article for more details on syncing.
