Versa adding too many steps while not wearing it

I got my Versa on the 3rd of this month for my birthday and I’m really looking for something to persuade me to keep it. It seemed fine all day Friday and Saturday but I noticed as I sat in church it was adding steps as I was sitting there. I thought it was just a weird glitch and reset it. When I woke up Monday morning it had counted 600 steps in my sleep, I could understand between 10 and 30 steps because I know I move around while I sleep. Then I took it off to do dishes(I know it’s water resistant but I’d rather be safe than sorry) and it had added 6,000 more steps as it sat on the counter. And Reading some reviews I see that I’m not the only one with this problem.Does anyone know if Fitbit is actually working on correcting this or should I just return my product before it’s too late to do anything about?

Hey @amclouth72, let me give you  warm welcome to the Community! I'd like to ask you something, while you took it off, was there  a fan or anything that may have been buzzing or vibrating on the same surface that your Versa was placed on? If so, please try placing your watch on a different surface without any vibrations and see if the issue persists.

Thanks for your reply, there was nothing vibrating on the counter or even near the counter.

Hey @amclouth72, thanks for your response my friend! Ok, considering that your Versa is counting so many steps by itself, I have escalated your case to our Support team so they can further investigate this issue. So please keep an eye on your inbox. 😉

Hey, mine is doing the exact same thing. It happened yesterday and I just ignored it, but today I put it on after it was on my bedside table with nothing else but a book on the table and it counted 6000+ steps. Can y’all help with this please?

Hey @leahturner723, welcome aboard! If your Versa is adding so many steps while you are not wearing it, and you already made sure that it is on a surface with any kind of vibrations around, but the issue persists, I will ask you to review your inbox, 'cause I have escalated your case with our Support team so they will get in touch with you soon.

Let me know how it goes!
