Versa (and others?) - Quick Reply oddity

So, I have SMS threads set up for each of my daughters and one group for both of them. Daughter sent a message from the group thread this morning and my phone was on another floor. I opened it and hit Quick Reply and it sent the reply. However, it sent it to the individual thread for her instead of the group thread that the initial text came from. I don't know if this is by design or is a bug.

Update: Received a text from the group from my other daughter. I replied and it went to not her, but the 1st daughter. I am definitely considering this some kind of bug.

I have group texts set up and it goes to the correct thread. That's very odd..

I have an iPhone.....oh bother, no quick replies at all. 😏

@SunsetRunner How's the group messaging set up on your phone? As MMS or separate SMS'es (mass text)? I'm assuming it's group MMS and Versa does not recognize it.

@WendyB yes I am aware, hence my wry smile  😉 If I want to quick reply to something I just tell Siri, and she does it for me there and then. 😀

@SunsetRunner then you might be onto something. You mentioned that Versa always sends your quick reply to the same person. I'm wondering if it is the first contact on the list in the thread.

Yes, she is the first contact in the group.

@SunsetRunner yes. So you're right. Versa doesn't seem to recognize the group and replies to the first contact listed .
