Versa battery drained fast

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Went out biking/walking for the day at 11.00 with 88% battery using the bike mode which obviously uses GPS. Got an email at 2.30 to advise battery life low, then at approx 3.30 it went off altogether. Is this usual? I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks so not sure what to expect?

Also does using GPS use your telephone data allowance?

Thank you for your time.

Hi, this is not normal. Contact Customer Support and ask for a battery test. Although GPS leads to more battery usage, this is absolutely not normal. Your battery should last for 4+ days.

@Janetthegannet Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Versa's battery drained after your went for a bike activity. I was able to get in touch with our Support team and was told that they provided some instructions via chat.

I would like to follow up and would like to know if the issue persists or if your Versa's battery is working properly.

Thank you for your help @SunsetRunner!

Hello there, yes I got in touch with the Fitbit customer service team. I am currently following their instructions and will get back to them when my battery drains away for a battery check.
I think I had too many apps operating to be honest as battery now lasting forever!!!!!

Janet

The battery was fine I had too many apps open, too much going on behind the scenes that where draining the battery. Fitbit recommended using there own clock face as apparently “designer” faces use more battery.

@Janetthegannet Thank you for getting back! I'm sorry for the late response. However, please let me know if you have tried another clock face.

Hi,

I know this was a year ago but just to share in April 2020 I had the same issue when using the bike ride activity. Went on a ride with battery showing 100% and within 2hrs watch had shut down with no battery charge. Tech wanted me to shut down all my notifications etc from calls, messages , calendar and apps  but what’s the point of having a watch where you can’t use all those features all the time. So I had a look at the settings screen once in bike ride activity (top right corner of watch screen, the cog) on settings screen scroll down the list and make sure the “Auto Pause is set to ON”, and the  “Always on screen is set to OFF”  My battery doing same activity the next day still had 95% left after completing the same bike ride, a massive difference. Hope this helps someone else out too!!
