Versa - best Fitbit yet!

I’ve been a diehard Blaze user and was sceptical about changing to the Versa given the variety of negative comments on this forum and yes I get it that it tends to be those wanting to voice such an opinion on this forum as oppose those that actually have something positive to say. I would say that some people do need to get a better perspective on life as the world isn’t about to end if their Versa is a few days late being shipped... or it isn’t as good as. ‘Pebble’... and all these threats about an Apple Watch make me smile. Many of my friends wear both an Apple Watch and a Fitbit because they need a decent fitness tracker... 

Ok. Got that off my chest. So the Versa... set up was a breeze... as long as you follow the instructions... you need a 2.4ghz WiFi connection... and yes they are very good reasons for this and happy to explain based on my limited (googled) knowledge but it makes sense. And yes it isn’t an instant set up as it installs the latest software so be patient as per the guidance notes. I’d say 30 mins. If it’s 32 mins please don’t start posting ‘end of the world’ messages. Do some star jumps.

Screen quality... top notch. Very clear and I wear sunglasses when running and in the sun I couldn’t see the screen on my Blaze... I can with the Versa so that’s a big plus.

Step count... lots of messages about inaccuracies. So I’ve done a couple of 5km’s and the steps count matches the Blaze. Also... I’ve actually counted steps and to be honest after a few hundred the Versa was spot on.

Battery life... well it’s been on since Saturday evening... and it’s Tuesday morning here... and showing Battery level as medium. Not bad considering it’s new and keep looking at it! 

Apps... Weather works fine but do I need it on my wrist... maybe... do I need other Apps... I don’t know as I have a smartphone and I want a health tracker to track my health but let’s see what gets developed. But if you want games to play sitting down as oppose motivating you to get a wriggle on then maybe consider strapping a games console to your wrist... again let’s keep a perspective and focus on having apps that support us being better versions of ourselves... physical and mental health is a good start.

Straps... seem perfectly fine to me... I swapped out the small band for the larger one.. clipped on ok. I’ve ordered a new sport band online (non-FitBit) as I prefer the bands with the air holes in them. 

Music... haven’t tried this yet. Happy to post an update when I do. 

Happy to to answer any questions but I’m very happy with my purchase and whilst I don’t doubt there are some genuine issues to be resolved we just need to keep calm, be patient and get some perspective and if you are genuinely not happy then return the Versa and find something else and remove that part of your life which is bringing you down. We are lucky to have the ability to make that choice.

Great review and i couldnt agree more! I love the Versa, a bit more involved to set up, I think that's causing some discomfort. Once I figured out what I was doing wrong (Yes, sometimes it's the user) I became a huge fan. Sad to read about some people giving up, they are missing out on a great product! I was about to start a happy versa user thread until I found yours. 

BTW, I have uploaded music and it works great! Very easy to upload playlists from itunes.

Would love to hear a review on the band you ordered once you've had a chance to try it out. I'm looking at bands on Amazon but kinda waiting for some reviews to flow in before I buy. I have ordered one that's taking an eternity to get here from China, so I can't offer any review on that one yet.

@cnyramThat’s good to hear. I want to add some tunes and will do that when I’m back from traveling. Great to hear that you along with probably 99% of other users are happy with their purchase. It’s just a bit daunting when researching to hear some negative comments  which can influence someone parting with their cash which I fully understand. Keep it up!

I bought the fitbit brand leather band in congac It is very nice and high quality. Despite the cost, I went with this one as it is an exact match to my horween  leather phone case. Looks very sharp! Also feels better than the plastic.

Had the Versa nearly one week and really really happy with its performance. No glitches and working as expected. Still haven’t tried downloading music but have now returned from travels so might give it a go later. If you’re still on the fence...
