Hello , I have replaced my Fitbit charge (which was 2 years old ) with a Versa. The calories burn has suddenly shot up. I had adjusted my weight when getting the Versa , which had increased.
However I seems a big step up in calories even though my weight has increased .
Is the Versa made in 2019 accurate for calories when height/ weight / gender is correct . Or is it generous and could possibly be better to change for a more accurate watch ? Many thanks

Honestly it is difficult to say as you didn't provide any number tracked.
Can you please let us know how many calories you are getting per day (on average) and the steps. Can you please also let us know the calories value measured by Charge 2?
Thanks
Thanks for replying 🙂 I was averaging out at 16,000 calories a week (roughly ) and now it seems to be over 18,000 average. Yesterday it said I burned 3266 Kcal and did 17,000 steps . However I don’t feel it was that high.
Ive looked back on the last few months of data. I had not logged my weight since summer 2017 :s and there’s has been a two stone increase since then due to pregnancy etc . I changed that weight when I got the versa . Do you think that could count for a change it higher calories burn ? However it said I do steps in the night around 50 but I don’t get out of bed ?
Looking at forums it says this watch is quite inaccurate so was looking for some reassurance it’s not a bad watch .
Many thanks

16000/7 = 2285 cal/day
18000/7 = 2575 cal/day
Considering the increase of weight of 2 stones (I had to google it and found it is roughly equivalent to 13 kg or 28 pounds) I think the increase of 300 calories burnt per day is quite realistic (due to the increased basic metabolic rate).
Another consideration is that Versa is using the heart rate to make a more precise estimation of the calories burnt. If your Charge was not the HR version then the calories reported had a rougher estimation.
The 50 steps reported by night is really not sufficient to alter the calories measured and is quite normal (maybe you move your wrist a lot).
I hope this clarifies your doubt. I consider the Versa/Ionic quite accurate for daily fitness tracking.
