I usually run with a Polar watch which has GPS built in. I wanted to compare this with my Fitbit versa watch with the view to moving away from Polar. I have a couple of questions which I'd appreciate any help on.
At the start of my run I activate the Polar watch and it locks onto GPS and ready to go. My versa I start and when I have the green connected signal I'm good to go. How does the Fitbit track the distance and stride length during my run?
Recently I ran with both watches and at the end of my run the Polar calculated 4.4 miles a d the Fitbit 4.3 miles so I'm happy with that. I repeated the same run today and the Polar calculated 4.4 miles and the Fitbit 3.4 miles! Any idea why there would be such a large variance between the 2? The Fitbit displayed the map correctly at the end of the run. I just can't understand the differences between the 2 devices.
Any help appreciated
