Versa died. Again - Now revived!

First, I have to say I'm very disappointed to see that Fitbit moderators take the liberty of changing the subject of a post. This is a severe lack of transparency and it should not be tolerated - especially when no rule was broken. The post was purely about facts.

The original message about my latest Versa misfortune was originally titled "Versa died. Again - I'm done with Fitbit!" was changed to "Feedback about Versa - My experience". It can be found here:

Well, after the death of my second Versa, I decided to open it and to dry it thoroughly. It took several days. Opening the watch was extremely easy as the screen popped itself out alone because of the water that got inside - once again since my first one died the same way.

After examining the seal, one can easily understand why this is happening. The seal is so weak and thin and narrow. The heat of a warm shower is likely sufficient to make it soft enough to be compromised - where mine died.

Once fully dried, it was clear the battery drained completely because, in part, of the short-circuit water did. I had to charge the Versa for about two days. Then, I was able to power it up. The screen had uneven coloring and thus, I decided to let it dry another week.

At this point, I cleaned the remaining of this flimsy seal and created a new one with a thermoplastic sealant I applied with a small knife edge. After clamping the screen in place for 24 hours, I cleaned the excess sealant and powered it up.

My Versa is now back to life, fully functional, with absolutely no visible trace of the incident.

The real question now is: how much time will this seal last?

Considering the sealant quality, it may be longer than both of my Versa.

Hi @TheCyberKnight  it's nice you were able to fix your Versa, but not many users would feel at ease opening it up and doing such repairs. Hope it works out well for you. As for the moderator changing the title of the thread, it's part of the Terms of Service, by which we all abide when posting. Often changing the title helps people know what it's about.
