I’ve finally made the decision to switch over to a different Fitness tracker. As mentioned in my previous post, about six months ago I purchased a Versa to replace my Blaze (which I really enjoyed). After a few weeks of wearing the Versa, and dealing with all its syncing issues, I ended up going back to my Blaze. However, after some consideration...I mean, I spent a bunch on this fitness watch...I decided to give the Versa another go. I’ve been wearing it for about a month and, wow, what a piece of garbage. Allow me to explain…it only syncs when it feels like it, I often get a message stating that I need to restart my Bluetooth and, when I do restart my Bluetooth, it doesn’t fix the problem. The only way I can get it to sync is to reboot my phone (Galaxy Note 8), which I must do a few times a day. When I search out how to fix the problem on the Fitbit site, I get a list of possible solutions that are somewhat convoluted and ridiculous (delete and reinstall your device, make sure that no other Fitbit devices are installed, make sure no other Bluetooth devices are installed, check to make sure your phone has up-to-date firmware, make sure your Fitbit device has updated firmware, make sure your Fitbit app is up-to-date, make sure every other app on your phone is up-to-date, did you delete your device from your phone? Well, do it again. Also, please sacrifice a small woodland creature by the light of a full moon. Was it a full moon? If not, the device may not work). I mean, I’ve got multiple devices connected to my phone by Bluetooth…three car stereos, a home thermostat, robotic vacuum, two Microsoft Surfaces, and a sous vide cooker…none have issues. How the hell can a robotic vacuum and sous vide cooker connect so easily and a watch designed for Bluetooth connectivity have so many issues? Seriously, I hate dumping Fitbit, a few of my friends have them and we do connect on the app, but I just don’t want to deal with the frustration anymore. I’m looking at Garmin watches now…maybe a Vivoactive 3…hopefully they know how to make a device that syncs to my phone without all the headache.

@RogueCyclist it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry for the late response. I'm also sorry to hear about the syncing issues that your Versa is experiencing with your Galaxy Note 8. I totally understand how frustrating this is for you and I'm sorry to hear that you decided to look for another device.
I appreciate your feedback and comments since this helps us to keep improving.
I'll be around if any question arises.

RogueCyclist...Oh how I love your post! Hilarious!! And so spot on it's ridiculous. I am beyond frustrated as well and also researching for a different tracker. My cousins only use Garmin. One is a former Fitbit user and switched after many problems. Good luck, I'm sure we will both be rid of the headaches soon!

Thanks, Amy...I appreciate it.
Honestly, I really wish the Versa worked as advertised. There are things I do like about Fitbit (for example, a few of my friends have devices and we do the challenges together) but I just can't get past how poorly the product performs. It's almost like it's still in beta. Additionally, a cursory search of the forum reveals that we are not alone...the Versa, and all of its issues, frustrates a whole bunch of people. Really, its just too bad.
As mentioned, I ended up ordering a Garmin Vivoactive 3. Like your family, I've used Garmin fitness products in the past (two different cycling computers) with pretty good luck. I'm hoping for the best!

I do challenges with friends too and I will certainly miss that. And yes, we are definitely not alone in our frustration! Hopefully this nonsense is fixed soon.
Good luck with your Garmin! I'm sure you will be much happier. 🙂
