Versa fitpay no longer working wallet will not connect to Versa

Hey guys!  I made the mistake of accidently turning off my Bluetooth which has just turned my versa into a nightmare

I have been resetting it and reinstating the app at least twice a week (knock wood it has been good lately) to keep it syncing but it my fitpay has been inoperative since. When trying to use the app to access to see if I can get it working again I get this message..Screenshot_20181109-180431.png

Any tips and tricks to revive it?

@Emwaah Try deactivating Fitbit Pay. To do that log in into your dashboard on the Fitbit website, go to Settings, Devices, Versa and scroll down to Fitbit Pay. Click deactivate. You might have to do it several times. Make sure it shows it has been deactivated. Then, go to your Fitbit mobile app and set up new code. It will probably give you a few connection errors but soldier through.

Thanks I'm up to 20 minutes solid "deactivating" and "confirming" then refreshing

I'm guessing persistence is the key?

I'll keep you updated @Marrrmaduke 🙂

You mean bluetooth on your mobile device? That should not have any direct impact. Just enable it again and all should work. Reading your msg it appears it works again, sort of. No need to reinstall the app!

What do you mean, has the card disappeared from the watch? If it was on the watch, it will normally stay on the watch (unless you have deliberately removed it as well, which you do via the dashboard etc). Or is the card on the watch but it doesn't work? You know you have to hold the left button for a few seconds and may have to swipe left or right to get to the payment card on your tracker?!

You don't really explain what you mean by "if I can get it working again", because in reality if the card is on the watch you don't have to bother with the app at all. And in fact if you disable bluetooth or don't have the mobile in the vicinity, or haven't synced for a long time, the card remains working no matter what.... Can you be very specific what does not work on the watch itself?

It appears you can get into the wallet tile on your mobile app, and then you get the pop-up that there is no connection to the Versa, correct? (text on image is difficult to read). Uninstalling the wallet/card from from fitbit.com doesn't help, the pin code stays anyway.

It is paramount that you have a proper sync with the watch, otherwise it won't work.

Go in the app, check that you get a sync (it should say "synced just now"), THEN go into the wallet tile in the app and follow along.

Hey @Marrrmaduke, after never getting that to disable I spoke to the online chat who have assured me my fitbit is not supported by my phone and unstable so therefor it makes features disappear and I have got a real nice bracelet until their developers fix the issues I went ahead and done a factory reset and it's working perfectly now.

@lenny4d oh how I wish you commented sooner, it seems you know all the answers! Pity it's now fixed. Have a great day 🙂

Fitbit has a list of supported devices against which they test all features, and hence can 'guarantee' that it works, and if something doesn't work they will help to fix it. But with the right iOS/Android version in reality nothing else than that it MUST work is acceptable. It's a bit of a lame excuse to say "we don't support that mobile so sorry, you're on your own". Fitbit is a 1.5B$ company and not some v0.0 app developed from a dormroom.  The mobile app itself isn't really all that fancy, but there is no doubt that the whole bluetooth communication chain leaves something to desire. With the factory reset you should have gotten the latest firmware (version ends in .19) and that may or may not improve a few things. It would be nice to know you notice a difference. Good luck!

I hope they didn't say that! 😉
