Versa going black & screen not working

In the past week my versa has started not working. The screen will go black, fully charged, and then come back on randomly.  

Then if it is in I am not able to use it. The touch screen doesn't work and then once I've restarted it it will work but only for a while then it will go back to not working. I haven't even had it a year and I've never had any other issues. 

Is this common?

No, Sarah, it is not common. Since a Restart didn't work, try a Factory Reset by swiping left to Settings, then About, and then Factory Reset.
