I’m pretty fit and do a fair bit of different types of exercise. I’m finding the heart rate tracking on my Versa to be pretty random.
When I am on a spin bike or kickboxing I find it almost impossible to get out of the ‘fat-burning’ zone - even if I am breathing hard, sweating, and feel as if I am working hard. However, when I’m running it is completely the opposite - my heart rate is in the high cardio or peak zones, even if I feel pretty relaxed and as if I could happily run all day.
Is the fact that running is higher impact somehow skewing the heart rate readings?

It's because when running (I assume you meant steady pace run) you less likely to bend your wrist and disturb sensor's readings. Kickboxing and cycling are good examples of activities which keep your wrist moving (not just bending but rapidly changing direction, shaking, etc. - all of it may create bad readings). There isn't any way of fixing it because it's a limitation of technology.
