Versa is counting steps when playing Bass

I play bass and I am realizing when I play it is counting it as steps, is there a way to fine tune the Versa so it recognizes that I am not moving/walking but actually playing in rythmn? I was recording today sitting down and it says I have over 11,000 steps.

@WestCoastJungle Hi and Welcome - I don't think there is a way of adjusting the way the steps are recorded - however you could reduce the amount by wearing your device on the other wrist during these sessions - im no expert so don't know if this will make a difference,

if that doesn't work, This article may give you some more suggestions

Welcome on board @WestCoastJungle, it's nice to see you around here! Robot Very Happy Since your Fitbit Versa has an Exercise menu, you can configure the exercises available on your device to show only the exercises that interest you. If a specific exercise isn’t available (like in this case), we recommend choosing Workout as your exercise type.

Otherwise, you can manually log the activity. Take a look at the article: How do I manually log an activity or exercise?. This article explains how and when to manually log an activity on your Fitbit dashboard.

You can also definitely try @ashwolve's recommendations about changing the position of your tracker. To get more info about that, check: How accurate are Fitbit devices?. The link he provides in regards to delete or edit your activities is very helpful. You can give it a go!

PS: I've moved your post to the Versa board as there are more changes to get related replies here.

Tried the other hand today and that made the difference. I have been using my right wrist as it seems to keep my heart rate better during workouts but the thumping on the strings must be what's registering as steps. Thanks for your help and input.
