Versa is tracking too many steps

This morning my Fitbit Versa jumped up several thousand steps. Both my Fitbit and the app are saying I have 14,500 but the challenge group says I have 10,000. I have closed the app and restarted, and restarted my Fitbit with no change. Can anyone tell me what to do? It’s never done this before.

Hi there, @L_M1991. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa before reaching out.

By any chance, did you set up MobileTrack? MobileTrack is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you don't have a Fitbit device available. But there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating during that time, that might have caused you to receive incorrect steps tracked.

If you want to negate the steps tracked during this period of time, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?Keep in mind that by doing this you won't delete the steps, but you will achieve the same result by negating them.

Hope this helps.
