So just before 7pm I was up to over 9,000 steps with 70+ active minutes. Now I have 5,000 steps and 9 active minutes. Versa just decided to remove them. Do I need to reset it? Do I need to go for another walk with the dog in the rain? What has happened??

Thanks for the detailed information shared. It's pretty weird that your steps and active minutes were removed.
I would like you to confirm there's no other tracker or watch paired to your account, this might be the reason why when your sync your Versa, it removed your steps and active minutes. Also, please check that there are no activities logged that might affect your data.
If you don't have any activities tracked on your Dashboard but you're still seeing that your steps are missing, you may want to manually log an activity in order to get those steps back.
