I received my Versa yesterday. It's paired with a Pixel 2 XL. Unfortunately, I think it's missing key features and I don't think I can use it as an alternative to Wear OS.
- I assumed there would be a calendar view. It didn't occur to me there wouldn't be. The ability to see a simple, non-editable list of my upcoming calendar events (even just the current day and the next day) is fundamental. Pebble did this well with their Timeline view. Apple Watch and Wear OS do it ok. Versa needs this to be a legitimate contender for use during a work day.
- I need to be able to silence my phone during meetings and other events and still have notifications delivered to the watch. Wear OS and Apple Watch are smart about this - they offer the ability to have the phone notifications get automatically muted when the watch is being warn. Versa doesn't have this ability (suppose that's a limitation of not being built by the platform vendor). But worse, if I put my phone into do not disturb mode, then the Versa doesn't get any notifications at all. So I can't mute my phone and still get notifications in any reasonable way. Perhaps I could try getting used to turning the volume up and down. Maybe that is a solution but, if so, it's an unfortunate one.
I don't think this watch is a keeper at this time. It's unfortunate, it's a really nice design.

The calendar view (even not editable) is a must, for sure!

There are a few 3rd party apps in the gallery that you can install for a calendar/timeline view from a google or outlook calendar (think I saw about 4 different ones earlier). I was surprised there wasn't a default Fitbit built one too though.
For the silence/DND issues a lot of people are not thrilled about how it's working! There're posts up in the Feature Suggestions forum which have been acknowledged by Fitibit mods but whether it'll get changed or not ... *shrug* Please vote on them to give them higher visibility:

I agree on the need for built-in calendar feature. This was the main value of the Pebble for me, the default Timeline functions which were instant (accessed via the down button), and Fitbit now has that know-how due to the Pebble acquisition.
I've been using a third-party calendar app and it is very clunky (it has to sync upon app launch often, forcing me to wait), and the view is barebones at the title-level only with no other data shown. I'm trying out other third-party apps now.
I'm surprised by the load times required even for the "Today" activity stats/dashboard. On the Pebble, it was instant (with the up buttons).
Otherwise, the Versa is a nice piece of kit!

I appreciate the message you posted. I am in the market for a new smartwatch. My current (and 2nd) is the Asus Zenwatch 3. It's a great watch but to get a day's battery life you have to turn off every useful feature. As a result, I've become very accustomed to being a pretty bare-bones smartwatch user. Time, notifications and now I would very much like to have NFC. I'm not interested in a single NFC watch that's currently on the market except for this one (special edition). However, recently Wear OS has faltered a bit with the silencing of the phone when the watch is being worn. I don't frankly know if it's my watch, my phone, or the software that's glitching but it's illustrated to me just how NECESSARY this function is. Now that I know the Versa does not offer "phone silenced while wearing a watch", I guess I'll keep waiting for the next best thing to come out on Wear OS...

which 4 apps? I only see one 3rd party app which does not support exchange accounts.

Several months later and still no integration with Exchange? 😕😕😕
Calendar is really key for so many of us...
Any idea how to have Fitbit give a higher priority to this enhancement so they can deliver it to us soon?
