My Versa is not counting my steps accurately at all. I’ve lost thousands of steps today. Any ideas?

Wow, I thought mine was bad. So far today there’s a 1500 step difference between the Versa and Pacer on my iOS phone.

I have called support several times.  I get the same response each time. Versa On/off, delete and re-install the app, Update app, swing arms more when walking.

Yeah, the “swing arms” part is critical, it’s the only way the accelerometer can tell you’re moving. Which means any time your arm is occupied, you’re not counting steps. Like carrying stuff, pushing a grocery cart, etc.

I'm running into the same issue. I'm down about 15-20% of my steps.

I tried walking in a straight line and it only counts 70-85 out of 100 each time.

I don't understand why it counts less steps than my flex 2. Did the Pedometer get worse?

Walked fast for 45 minutes this morning. Fitbit only tracked 666 steps. This is wrong

Make sure you swing your arms like a chimpanzee. For me, the Versa normally counts 30-50% of my steps. And the heart rate monitor is only in the ballpark (less than 10% error) 80% of the time.

I recently purchased a Fitbit Versa 2 which I am not happy with at all. It is water resistant not water proof. Secondly while walking at a fast pace for 45 minutes yesterday it only calculated 650 steps. Does not hold charge long at all. I would not recommend this Fitbit

Well, I went hiking today with my Versa, and for a change, it did a fairly good job counting “steps”. It was about 10% higher than the steps counted by the Pacer app on my iPhone. Not accurate but better than its usual 30-50% low. I also got a Lighthouse badge from Fitbit.
