Versa not receiving text msgs with Samsung Note 8

I literally just bought this device today after returning a Samsung sport device. So I returned to Fitbit only to have the issue of not receiving my text notifications. Why am I having an issue with this when I have checked everything in reference to encryption messaging. gone into settings...I've done everything. What is the issue? This is frustrating and I'm ready to return this and go with the Samsung device that gave me NO issue other than its weight.

@HalfMary Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! It could be that you need to refresh the connection between your phone and your Versa. You can try refreshing the link between both by going to the bluetooth settings area on your phone and removing all devices listed there (not only the Versa). Restart your phone and then restart your Versa by doing the following:

 

1.- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
2.- Let go of the buttons.
3.- If your Fitbit watch doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again. 

 

Check that the Fitbit app is up to date and that it has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions). After this sync your Versa again with the app and enable notifications again.
