Versa pausing during exercise

What a waste of money. I can't finish a workout without the thing pausing or totally backing out of the workout. Why would you guys at Fitbit not put a lock button on it? Have to pay for watch faces, pay to get my Pandora music to play in my headphones. Going to sell this thing for what I can and go with apple. Loved my first Fitbit. You guys dropped the ball big time.

A warm welcome to the Community @Cjones08.

I think it would be great to have a lock option for the Versa while working out. I recommend taking a look at the Lock Screen/buttons during Exercise request, vote for it and leave your comment. In the meantime, I suggest being careful with your sleeves and clothes while exercising.

Keep the stepping up. Robot Happy

How can FitBit say this is "not considered" and we can no longer comment on that thread?   What are people doing?  How do you deal with this inadvertent pausing during any workout?  I see someone mentioned getting a bumper/cover, but mine still paused when sweat or rain got under cover and the moisture drops caused the "pause"     I guess the only people who keep the Versa are not really tracking exercise, just steps, floors, sleep, etc.   I workout 5-6 days a week and this is important!!!   I might have to return mine.

I've done the bumper as well and it will still pause my workout if I
slightly bend my wrist at all. I've tried to but it as high up on my arm as
i can but no matter what some how that put on gets pushed and I've lost
half my workout. For now I'm using my charge 2 and hopefully I will get
the apple watch soon. This versa is pointless for anything other the
recording steps.

I have used the bumper as well but seems no matter what  My workout is paused. I have even tried to put the versa as far up as I can on my arm. However somehow it still gets paused and I have lost half of my workout. For now I am using my charge to and planning to get a Apple watch shortly. This versa is ridiculous and pointless if you wanna do anything other then record steps

All the Versa reviews rave about how good it is, and they never mention this crappy problem!  I want to scream NO!  It doesn't track exercise or WO!!  They have a bug and it is "not being considered".   How stupid.  It is disappointing, and they are not even allowing any more comments.  Just bury their head in the sand.  When people discover you cannot do anything more than basic step tracking, all these sales Fitbit is getting will become returns.  Full refunds!!   Take that - Fitbit!    I am not happy.  I have a Charge3.  BTW, Apple is a great Smart Watch - it is not known for fitness tracking.  I have a friend and we walk and hike and WO together.  Her Apple watch will have 23 floors and Charge3 will have 146 - and other Fitbits in our group have same.  So, if you go with Apple, beware, it might not pause but you won't have decent WO data - if you can keep your battery running long enough.

Very good to know about the apple.  Thank you.  I have a friend who has one and she loves it. I used it twice and liked it pretty well...for an apple product. I'm not a big apple fan.

It's been over a year so I can't even return my versa. Its ridiculous that they won't respond or do anything about it..like you said they just bury their heads.  They don't care, they made tons of money.  They won't get any more of mine, I know that for sure.

You might want to consider a Garmin product for excellence in tracking running, walking, GPS, etc.  You have to decide what you want: SmartWatch or Fitness tracking.  Or try Charge3; that is what I will probably do.  I really like Fitbit, Charge2, Charge3, and the app.  If they would just address this pause issue.... but it has been here for years.  I am going to leave comments on all the Versa reviews I see so more people know about this issue.

For now I'm just using my charge 2.  It would be great if fitbit gave a solution to this problem or refund the money. I'm not real happy about being out 200 bucks then need to spend more on another product

Totally agree! I have to start workout and flip the watch to avoid my workouts being paused. So annoyed about it! Fitbit is a fitness watch, yet tracking fitness pauses in the middle of it.   What a design shame!

I agree it is a stupid bug they should fix. But I love the Versa, I have been using it since Christmas. I keep an eye and watch to be sure it hasn't paused in my WO.  These days I am usually walking, hiking, or in AquaFit, or other group fitness class.  In summer (without long sleeves) it has only paused a time or two.... and I caught it pretty quick.   In winter my jacket or shirts make it more an issue.    And I work out 6 or 7 days a week.... so you need to do what is right for you.  But I love Fitbit and the Versa.  I don't want to go to Apple.  So I am making it work for me.  I hated the bumper on the Versa, it's ugly and didn't help.  I do put a crystal screen protector to protect my screen.  And they still get cracked and beat up, and I changed it.  But my screen is still perfect.  I buy 3-paks from Amazon, and when I use the last one, I order a new pak (for like $10 or so)….  Good luck.

I use the running exercise and it keeps pausing during my workout and when I sit down it plays again. I hope Fitbit can fix this in the future.
