Versa's battery drains while turned off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello,

So I noticed that my Versa's battery life quickly drains when turned off, which I believe is far from normal. What's more is that the drainage occurs twice as fast compared to when it's on. My Versa is around 14 months old, on and off usage, but battery life is pretty much fine. It lasts me around 4-5 days per charge. Whenever I turn it off, however, as was the case yesterday, it had lost 30% (!!!) of its charge over around 14 hours, which is extreme. If I leave it off for an entire day or two, it loses its charge completely.

Is there any known solution for this, or does anyone else experience this? I could attach screenshots as proof if needed.

@AndrewX, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since the battery is draining fast and won't last as long as it should.

Please restart your watch as described in this help article. After this, charge your Versa for 2-3 hours. Finally, I'd like you to try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article in order to improve the battery life of your Fitbit Versa. After this, monitor your watch and see if it keeps the charge while it's turned off.

Keep me posted on the outcome!😀

Hello, I did restart my device many times, as I've also had some trouble syncing. The issue persists. I also did take the necessary precautions and battery saving measures.

JuanJo,

Isn't this a known issue with the firmware update?

Hello! I am having the same issue. Battery will not stay charged for more than 3-4 hours. The heart rate feature quit working first and now the battery. I’ve done everything possible. I contacted the support team and they offered 25% a new product though this is the 4th FitBit Iv owned so am switching tot he Apple Watch which has lasted my kids 3+ years. It’s more expensive initially though less in the long run as you only have to buy one.

I have tried all the suggestions. I even Shutdown my Fitbit at night in hopes to increase the amount of time between charges but nothing has worked. My Fitbit Versa battery barely lasts 24 hours when it used to last about 3 days prior to the firmware update.

My family and I have been Fitbit customers since 2011 but this move has cost FitBit our loyalty. I refuse to support a company that attempts to manipulate its customers by installing "updates" that shorten battery life in hopes of increasing the sales of their newly released device. Good riddance to dishonest business practices and false promises.

I have decided to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2.

I am having exactly the same problem with battery drain both on and turned off which was not the case when I bought it around 10 months ago

Agreed, this was not an issue before the firmware update. My Fitbit is getting to the point with the continuous battery drain that I can’t even use it. So disappointing!!!
