I have an original Versa. Two nights ago while trying to sleep, the screen kept waking itself up every few seconds. It was annoying, but I thought maybe I needed to clean it. Then last night, out of nowhere, the screen suddenly went completely blank and now won't display anything at all. I've tried resetting it using the left and bottom buttons. I've tried changing the clock face from the app. I chatted with Support, whose only troubleshooting attempt was to try and reset it again. I was then offered 25% off a new FitBit or 40% off the Mulberry colored Versa Lite. I asked about how to roll back the most recent Firmware update, and was given instructions to factory reset it. Unfortunately, since a critical part of the factory reset process is seeing the FitBit logo, and with my screen not working, I'm not sure if I was able to factory reset it successfully or not. Either way, the screen still is completely blank. The FitBit itself seems to still be working, in that I can put it on the USB charger plugged in to my computer and hear the chime on my computer speakers, and I can see the green light flashing on the back of the unit. Without the screen, though, it's completely useless to me. With my husband out of work due to Covid19, I can't afford to replace this right now. How incredibly disappointing that FitBit's firmware update seems to have bricked what was a very helpful device. I'm thinking that if/when I can afford to replace this, I'll be going with another company, as I can't support a company who pushes an update that kills devices in order to sell new products.

At least they offered you the discount! Support told me they couldn't do anything for me, and that they would "escalate my case to a specialized team" who has yet to contact me, 7 days later! I have the exact same problem, my Versa is now a fancy paperweight.
This is ridiculous!

I also have the original versa and my screen has went black as well. I suspected the recent update might have been the cause and looks like that’s probably what did it! I also cannot afford to replace mine, and as a nurse in a prison this came in so handy as it’s not “too smart” that I am still able to wear it where as we aren’t allowed apple watches or other smart watches 😔

Submit a support ticket (you will probably have to do the chat route) and if it's still under warranty they will get back to you about a replacement eventually. I finally got contacted today!
