My Fitbit Versa started with 29,000 steps when I picked it in the morning yesterday.

It's weird to hear that your tracker started with 29,000 steps. Have you checked if it reset at midnight? In the meantime, to avoid this to happen again, I recommend restarting your Versa.

Why is this weird?

Many others including myself have been reporting the midnight-lack-of-reset issue.

Restarts don't work for me at home, but when I travel, it seems to work.

Bizarre.
