Sorry if this has been asked before..
I have owned a Charge HR, a Flex 2, an Amazfit Bip, andnow a Versa..
Overall, I'm happy with the Versa, but it seems I'm getting too many steps/miles with it. Either that, or my 3 previous devices were under-counting (doubtful).
I'm a mail carrier, so my daily steps should be similar every work day (not counting my overtime).
What's an easy way to test my Versa's step counting? Walk 100 steps and check the.Fitbit? Any way to calibrate the Versa if it is indeed miscounting?
It just seems that I'm getting way too many steps with the Versa vs my 3 previous devices. I'm at least 3000 more steps than an equivalent day either my Amazfit or my Flex 2.
Thanks!

Fitbit is continually looking at ways to improve the accuracy, unfortunately these changes usually get added to the new trackers rather than the older ones

@Jeffrok Yes you can count steps like you mentioned and see what Versa shows. But, this additional steps come probably from a certain type of arm movement, especially given your profession. I had the same issue, but managed to resolve it by changing Wrist Placement setting (open Fitbit app, tap on the Versa icon and scroll down to Wrist Placement) to Dominant. Don't forget to sync.

Ok, but why are the step counts SO far off when compared to my previous Fitbits (and amazfit)?
I don't want credit for steps I haven't taken.

@Jeffrok My guess is it uses a slightly different algorithm. They always adjust them once they have more data coming from the population. It's already better than what it was in April, 2018. 😄 I move my hands a lot... and all my workouts involve moving hands a lot. I decided to switch the hand setting though in the retrospect perhaps I shouldn't have as I am not getting fully credited. It's really up to you. Still, the calorie burn, heart rate it will not be dependent on these readings. It will be accurate.

If the steps are different between the units, which unit is more accurate? Each unit used it's own algorithm and you will find they each at times will record extra steps and at other times more steps. The thing is the individual trackers will not do these eat similar times.

If algorithms differ from one Fitbit product to another, I think it's funny that Fitbit won't allow other brands of trackers to use their software for challenges, since apparently not all Fitbit tracker algorithms are created equally, either.
