Versa stopped receiving notifications

I’ve had my Versa for a week now. I needed to charge it which I did. Since then I’m not receiving any notifications. I’ve trouble shot all the suggestions. I mean all of them! Still nothing.

Now I’m worried that I’ll get it working and need to charge it again and I’ll have to deal with this again. I love the watch but hate not getting the notifications.

Lastly the calendar reminders don’t show the entire text like my old Fitbit charge did. I have an iPhone 8+. Help please

@EverSandra Try this:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Grant all permissions incl pairing
  7. Make sure Fitbit Notifications are enabled in your phone Settings. If they are switch them off, sync, switch them back ON, and sync again.
  8. Set up all the notifications in the Fitbit mobile app and sync.

ETA:  Versa may not vibrate if it's hungry aka low battery. Also, please press and hold the left button of your versa to access quick menu and go to Notifications settings. Check if it's ON. Toggle ON/OFF.

Thanks for the step by step instructions. This worked somewhat. It’s giving me notifications but only if I pull them down on the screen. My watch didn’t vibrate. Ugh. So frustrating. And now it needs to be charged so I’m guessing I’ll have to start all over again? 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

I'm having the same issue, when I first got my Versa it worked perfectly, received all notifications etc. But then after a couple of weeks it stopped working. I receive notifications when a call is coming through, but nothing for a text, messenger or whatsapp message. Have tried uninstalling, forgetting device through bluetooth and nothing has worked. Really frustrating.

OK, this worked. It so great to have my notifications back! Now. To complain. This is completely NOT intuitive! I'm surprised I didn't have to stand on one foot at one point. I know a lot of people are frustrated by this issue. Probably not as much as Fitbit! Apple is famous for not playing nice with non Apple products. Still. This was a hassle, and I love tech! Can't imagine what a nightmare this is like for non tech peeps.

How about instead of going to a discussion board, FitBit fixes this issue for the hundreds of people like myself struggling to have the Versa work properly?!?

@Pheen And how do you imagine it happens? Fitbit have a magic crystal ball and see all the phone models and operating systems that have encountered problems. All the flavours of the Android, all the skins dumped by phone manufacturers, all the iOS versions. Then, they sit, sigh and run a lottery draw whom to help first. @Pheen, this forum is to seek help, yes, but there's another purpose to it (beside community aspect and having fun, too :)). It's gathering the information which is further relayed to Fitbit team. Though, btw, it would be awesome, and helpful :), if you had shared your phone model and OS...

The part about holding down the left button is not included in the approved solution - but it is what made the difference for me.  If I hadn't scrolled down to find this I would never have gotten this to start working again.  I might help others if the approved solution is updated.  I didn't even know that left button menu existed and I've had my watch for months. I never needed to take that step to pair it before.

@kpolninja it's not needed for pairing. Just displaying notifications. I added it to my original post.

I’ve tried all the suggestions here to get notifications on my Fitbit Versa, but to no avail. I have an iPhone 6S. I am now receiving gmail notifications and phone calls, after reinstalling everything but still not SMS. I’m wondering if I have a faulty Fitbit, I’m finding it all very frustrating and time consuming, would an Apple Watch have been a better choice , albeit a more expensive one.
