Versa stopped turning on

Hi All,

I was given a Fitbit Versa by my sweetheart of a grandmother for Christmas however after wearing it in the pool for the first time (chlorine, not saltwater) it stopped working. It was fine while swimming and immediately after but stopped working about 12-16 hours after getting out and drying off.

My grandmother no longer has the receipt and can't remember where she bought it from. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas on what to do about this. Pretty annoyed that it stopped working after one swim when it was all but new.

Thanks!

Hi, I read these messages now a lot of times. Although it's stated that the Versa is waterproof, it's not entirely true, It's water resistant, which means that after a swim you need to dry your Versa and the band very thoroughly directly after a swim to prevent these kind of problems. As your grandmother does not has the receipt anymore, it will be difficult to contact Customer Support about this, but nevertheless I will flag you post to the Moderator Team in order to see whether they have a solution for you. If they have, someone will contact you within a short while.

@MWM230 Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Versa stopped turning on after it was worn in the pool.

Before proceeding accordingly on my end, I'd like you to restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your tracker internally. Once you've done this, charge it for 2-3 hours and see if it comes back to life. Also, please make sure of the rest of the details that are listed in this help page that have been helpful. It also advises the restart process but you can skip it if you already tried it.

Thank you so much for your help @SunsetRunner!

See you later guys! 😀
