I’m trying to set up my new Versa. The installation says it’s complete but my device will not progress passed the Shortcuts screen. I hold the buttons, tap the screen, I even tried to forget my Versa and start again. Nothing has worked.

Try restarting yout Versa several times
If that doesnt fix it do a Factory reset using thw buttons. Let us know how you go
FACTORY RESET USING BUTTONS
On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This triggers the 2-button hardware reboot after about eight seconds.
- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, then continue holding the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.
- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time, or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.
If the device turns on, please go back to the Fitbit app and setup your device back to your account with these steps. Make sure your watch is plugged into a wall plug or a computer, next to the router and that there are no other trackers or devices with Bluetooth on nearby when setting up. Please log into your account, go to account on the upper right corner, there look for "setup a device" and tap on it. Follow the instructions on the screen and let the watch charge for 2 hours.

I opened my brand new Fitbit Versa box and during the initial set up it got stuck on the shortcuts screen “hold this button from any screen for music controls and shortcuts”. I can’t seem to get the factory reset to work. After holding all 3 buttons for 8 sec the screen goes black. If I let go of the bottom right button after the 8 sec the same shortcuts message pops up again. Any help would be appreciated.

Varsha's is the simplest solution, and it worked for me.

Long press on left button, scroll down to see all options, then click save after you select one.

I am trying to do this but it is not working.
I have also tried to restart the tracker, but the Fitbit logo does not come up at all, the clock face just goes black.

I'm having the same trouble. My Versa lite is stuck on shortcuts and won't move, won't shut down. there is only 1 button. When I press and hold, it does nothing. The watch is charged. It won't even show my steps on my iphone.
