Versa syncing with Note8 but not providing notifications

My Versa shows that it is syncing with my Galaxy Note8; however, I'm not receiving call, text, messenger, or other app notifications.  This seems to happen every time I take the Versa off to charge.  Any ideas?

@flyingincali Are you able to bring notifications back after charging, or does it simply never receive any notifications? Are the notifications enabled on Versa itself (long press the left button to open quick menu and toggle Notifications OFF/ON several times)?
