On the versa can you reply to text messages Or just get notifications from an iPhone or just android devices I only want the device if I can reply to texts

Fitbit have introduced a quick replies feature but this currently only works on Android. See: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2344/

 

It seems that fitbit would like to enable this on iOS but Apple's closed system is preventing them from doing so.
