I just purchased a brand new fitbit Versa on Saturday. I was able to connect it to the fitbit app, but it said that I needed to install the updates. I have been trying since yesterday. Right now it is saying Do not close this App while the Tracker is updating. It said the same thing last night but nothing happened. Do you know how long it should take to update? Last night it took so long that I had a message that I had to recharge my device. I am kind of going around in circles.

Hi, hope this guide will help you through the process of updating to the new Firmware Version. Just replace "My Versa" to "Your Versa". Hope this is helpfull.

@JoCool. I. Would cancel the update, usually the app needs to be forced closed.
Then restart.
Are you using WiFi or bluetooth to update, and have you tried both ways?

@JoCool Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Versa is taking a long time to get updated. The information that shared @SunsetRunner and @Rich_Laue is totally correct. I would like to follow up and would like to know if those troubleshooting steps fixed the issue.
In case the issue persists, please restart your Versa as described in this help article. After this, repeat the troubleshooting steps that they shared above.
Let us know how it goes!
