Versa vibrating randomly and restarting itself

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa vibrates randomly without a notification and restarts itself (which makes it vibrate). Support will say that the random vibrations are caused by Versa losing the bluetooth connection with my phone. The thing is, both problems only happen at night. All the vibration is killing my sleep. And I know that the bluetooth connection gets lost pretty often during the day, because I sometimes check and it hasn't synced in more than an hour.

I've tried 3 different Versas, all of which I've factory reset after the problem starts. And yet it persists. Support just wants to replace it, but replacements have already failed. I know if I was smart, I'd just not wear it to bed, but most of the reason I bought my first Fitbit was for the sleep tracking. And there's always the magical thinking that it won't happen again.

Also, if they're going to have it vibrate with no other information just because the bluetooth connection is lost, it would maybe be nice if there was a way to disable this. Not everyone is glued to their phone 24/7.

Mine seems to be doing the same thing.  I don't know if it's restarting, but I get one quick vibration and then I'm awake to see that the clock face is showing.  It won't shut off unless I press the left button.  This happens 2-3 times a night and is really annoying.  This is probably why it is showing me awake so much because I actually am!

@RandyW36 I can usually tell it restarted, rather than just vibrating maliciously, because the red light comes on in the HR monitor when I'm asleep and it turns off when it restarts. I wear my Versa on my right wrist, so it may be easier to see from the left side, but it's a definite clue.

It actually doesn't seem to be a full restart, as if you held in the buttons, as the watch loses time during a manual restart and doesn't seem to during the self "soft" restart.

The good news is that, though it does still happen occasionally, it's actually gotten pretty rare (I probably just jinxed myself).

The weird news is that the Versa seems to run a little better when it happens regularly. I charge mine when I'm in the shower every day, so I get a full (99%, fitbits are weird) charge every day and can tell how much battery it uses daily. By the next morning, I'm generally down to between 73-78%. The overnight restarts seem to push it to the upper end for a few days. Manual restarts definitely don't do this.

My Versa restarts itself while I am running. Since I listen to music thru the Versa, I am alerted to what has happened becasue the music cuts out and when I look at the Versa it has restarted itself.

No vibrations.
