My Versa won’t stay charged for more that two hours. I had just updated it a few days ago. Did this ruin my Versa?

Hi there @NicCar, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the battery short life of your Versa. I'll be glad to help you with this.

As per the description, it seems that it has insufficient power source. Where do you charge your watch? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub. Please note that for best results, don’t leave your device plugged in on the charger longer than overnight.

If you haven't done so yet, I suggest taking a look at this help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

On the other hand, if you have charging difficulties, please check the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?

Give this a go and let me know if you need further assistance.

My Versa has no problem charging. It takes a charge but once it’s done, the battery only lasts for two hours. It just started doing this 2 days ago. Before that, the battery would last all day. (I’ve had it for over a year.) I updated the Versa the day before the battery issue started. Seems coincidental to me. Looks like I’ll have to buy something new, most likely not another Fitbit product since they don’t seem to last very long. ☹️

ive been having the same problem! I only let it charge when it’s dead, take it off at 100% and the battery dies In less than a day. It used to last a few days at most and I’ve only had this product for about a year

This happened to me too.

After latest updates the watch battery only lasts 2 days. It lasted almost a week before the update.  And now it errors the time. It's like it needs the phone to keep correct time now. It's crappy now.

All of a sudden my Fitbit won’t stay charged even after it gets

fully charged and with no connection issues. Not sure whether mine updated or not but this is not what I expect after only having it less than 1 year. Thoughts?

Hi there @NicCar, thanks for getting back. I appreciate you had followed the tips and recommendations provided above. Since this sounds a bit more serious, I've created a support case on your behalf - you should soon receive an email from Customer Support at the email you used to register with the Community forums. Note that we may take a bit long to get back to you since due to recent events affecting our operations, support options are limited and wait times are longer than usual. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know.

Hello @Marit1000, @Henrikra, and @jsembach, welcome on board. I'm sorry to hear that you both are also having this issue with your watches. In order for me to better assist you, would you mind trying the steps and recommendations I shared in this post?

Hey @Henrikra, in regards to our watch losing time, keep in mind that your Versa may be showing an incorrect time since it hasn't synced yet. Your Fitbit grabs the time of the device you're syncing with.

To see when was the last time sync, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image. If your watch has not recently synced, follow these troubleshooting steps: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
