Versa won't respond

My Versa is about 2 years old. Has been working fine with no problems. Then tonight I noticed the screen was black and wouldn’t respond to any of the buttons. Placed it on the charger and after a few seconds the diamond starting screen appeared and it vibrated. I then synced it and it showed 100% battery. Removed it from charger and it worked for about 20 seconds and then went unresponsive. After doing this several times I managed to get into watch settings and shut it down. Restarted it but it did the same thing. So I decided to do a factory reset. Whilst doing this I left it on the charger. This all seemed to work until I took it off the charger and the screen went black and all buttons were unresponsive again. I am at a complete loss as to what to try now. If anyone can help - please.

Hi there @Oleark53, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about your Versa's recent behavior, I understand where your concern is coming from. Thanks for your efforts in troubleshooting your watch prior to posting here. Nice way to go!

Does your Versa vibrates when you connect it to the charger? If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend the following suggestions:

  1. Check in the Fitbit app if your Versa is still syncing, if so, try changing the clock face to a different one by following these steps: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?. The steps are done through the Fitbit app, do not worry if you cannot see anything on the screen for this process.
  2. Please confirm that you've restarted your Versa by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the suggestions don't work and your watch doesn't vibrate, please try the following steps:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
