Versa won’t swipe

I have a versa about 1 month old.  It began to act funny and after a while I couldn’t get the screen to swipe. Only the buttons changed the screen.  I tried a hard reset holding down the buttons from online instructions and that didn’t work...it always came back to the home clock screen.  I left it alone for about an hour and now has vertical lines and can’t make out anything
